Job summary

Rush Truck Centers in Indianapolis, IN is seeking a Service Advisor to sell and schedule service work for commercial trucks and equipment in the dealership service department. You will gather customer details, perform walk-around inspections, and create repair orders while communicating timeframes and costs to customers.

The ideal candidate has at least a high school diploma or GED, a minimum of one year service experience (or equivalent), valid CDL, and a clean driving record.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• At least 1 year service experience or equivalent.
• Valid CDL license and insurability.

Responsibilities

• Gather customer complaint details and expectations.
• Perform vehicle walk around inspection and verify vehicle information.
• Connect to J-Pro and perform on-the-spot diagnostics; print report and reference service history.
• Advise customers on vehicle care and maintenance per manufacturer specs.
• Write up vehicle problems clearly on a service input card and obtain signatures.
• Set promised times based on shop workflow and communicate with foreman.
• Determine payment method and obtain credit approval if needed.
• Create and manage repair orders and secure documentation.
• Monitor progress and obtain authorization for additional repairs.
