Rush Truck Centers is seeking a Service Advisor to sell and schedule service work for commercial trucks and equipment. The role involves gathering customer needs, inspecting vehicles, performing on the spot diagnostics, and advising customers on maintenance per manufacturer specs.

The position requires a high school diploma or GED, at least one year of service experience or equivalent education, a valid CDL license, and manufacturer training. Driving record must be insurable.

Responsabilités

• Gather customer complaint details and expectations.
• Perform vehicle walk around inspection and verify vehicle information.
• Connect to J-Pro and perform on the spot vehicle diagnostics; print report and refer to service history; recommend additional needed service.
• Advise customers on care of their vehicles and maintenance per manufacturer specs.
• Write up vehicle problems clearly on a service input card and obtain customer signatures.
• Set promised time based on shop workflow and communicate with foreman.
• Determine payment method and obtain credit approval if necessary.
• Create repair orders and secure service input cards with signatures.
• Monitor progress and inform customers of changes in estimates or promised times, and obtain authorization for additional repairs.
