Job summary

NFI in Sulphur Springs, TX, is seeking a Transportation Supervisor to coordinate the dedicated fleet, maximize driver and equipment utilization, and exceed customer expectations through dispatch operations and reporting to management. Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain, Business or related field, or at least 1-5 years of supervisory experience.
• High School Diploma required
• Experience with TMW and People Net preferred
• Ability to work in fast paced environment
• Ability to handle changing priorities and use good judgment in stressful situations
• Working knowledge of Microsoft Office applications
• Working knowledge of transportation / mechanical equipment
• Working knowledge of OSHA, DOT, HAZMAT, FDA regulations and the willingness to become certified in one or more of these areas as necessary
• Excellent talent management and team building skills
• Excellent verbal, non-verbal, and written communication skills
• Excellent customer service skills specifically with external clients
• Excellent analytical and mathematical skills
• Bilingual English/Spanish preferred at select locations

Responsibilities

• Provides day-to-day supervision to staff including coordinators, clerks, spotters, and drivers.
• Manages driver scheduling process and payroll data
• Coordinates load completions and data entry into TMW
• Coordinates with managers on the customer invoicing process and reconciles common carrier invoice and approvals
• Ensures that equipment is utilized in the most efficient manner
• Coordinates the maintenance of equipment with management and fleet
• Drafts and submits daily end of shift report
• Makes recommendations to management on initiatives and programs to improve operations and works on those programs
• Communicates daily with coordinators and drivers regarding service issues, forecasting workload and other pertinent information
• Assists in developing a program to train and motivate personnel for increased effectiveness
• Assists in developing an onboarding program for new personnel
• Maintains good HR practices with direct reports and adherence to policies
• Resolves employee relation issues, discipline actions, and terminations
• Provides coaching and feedback to enhance skill development
• Participates in talent selection
• Provides regular coaching and performance reviews
• Maintains accurate timekeeping records
• Stays current on information, tools, and systems
• Ensures safe operation and OSHA/DOT compliance
• Follows processes for reporting and investigating injuries and accidents
• Reviews daily pre/post-trip procedures
