Job summary

NFI in Williamsburg, VA is seeking a Transportation Supervisor to coordinate the dedicated fleet, maximise driver and equipment utilization, and oversee dispatch operations and reporting to customers and management. You will supervise staff, manage driver scheduling and payroll data, coordinate load completions in TMW, and collaborate on invoicing and equipment maintenance.

The role requires a Bachelor's or 1–5 years of supervisory experience, knowledge of TMW and PeopleNet, and strong

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain, Business or related field, or at least 1-5 years of supervisory experience.
• High School Diploma required.
• Experience with TMW and People Net preferred.
• Ability to work in fast paced environment.
• Ability to handle changing priorities and use good judgment in stressful situations.
• Working knowledge of Microsoft Office applications.
• Working knowledge of transportation / mechanical equipment.
• Willingness to certify in OSHA/DOT/HAZMAT as needed.
• Excellent talent management and team building skills.

Responsibilities

• Provides day-to-day supervision to staff including coordinators, clerks, spotters, and drivers.
• Manages driver scheduling process and payroll data
• Coordinates load completions and data entry into TMW
• Coordinates with managers on the customer invoicing process and reconciles common carrier invoice and approvals
• Ensures that equipment is utilized in the most efficient manner
• Coordinates the maintenance of equipment with management and fleet
• Drafts and submits daily end of shift report
• Makes recommendations to management on initiatives and programs to improve operations and works on those programs
• Communicates daily with coordinators and drivers regarding service issues and workload forecasting
• Assists in developing onboarding programs for new personnel
• Maintains timekeeping records and supports performance reviews
