Job summary

NFI Industries in Groveport, OH is seeking a Transportation Supervisor to supervise dispatch operations, coordinate driver scheduling, and optimize equipment utilization while ensuring customer satisfaction. This role reports to operations management and partners with HR on staffing and performance.

The ideal candidate has a Bachelor’s degree or 1–5 years of supervisory experience, knowledge of TMW and PeopleNet, and strong communication, analytical, and safety compliance skills.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain, Business or related field, or at least 1-5 years of supervisory experience
• High School Diploma required
• Experience with TMW and People Net preferred
• Ability to work in fast paced environment.
• Ability to handle changing priorities and use good judgment in stressful situations
• Working knowledge of Microsoft Office applications
• Working knowledge of transportation / mechanical equipment
• Working knowledge of OSHA, DOT, HAZMAT, FDA regulations and the willingness to become certified in one or more of these areas as necessary
• Excellent talent management and team building skills
• Excellent verbal, non-verbal, and written communication skills
• Excellent customer service skills specifically with external clients
• Excellent analytical and mathematical skills
• Bilingual English/Spanish preferred at select locations

Responsibilities

• Provides day-to-day supervision to staff including coordinators, clerks, spotters, and drivers
• Manages driver scheduling process and payroll data
• Coordinates load completions and data entry into TMW
• Coordinates with managers on the customer invoicing process and reconciles common carrier invoice and approvals
• Ensures that equipment is utilized in the most efficient manner
• Coordinates the maintenance of equipment with management and fleet
• Drafts and submits daily end of shift report
• Makes recommendations to management on initiatives and programs to improve operations and works on those programs
