Job summary

NFI is seeking a Transportation Manager I to lead the dedicated fleet operations in Virginia, with full P&L responsibility and a focus on exceeding customer expectations. You will shape strategic plans, manage staff, ensure safety and compliance, and drive continuous improvement across logistics and delivery processes.

The role requires 5+ years in supply chain, familiarity with TMW/AS400, and strong leadership, communication, and analytical skills.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain, Business or related field, or equivalent experience.
• At least 5+ years’ overall experience in supply chain.
• Experience with TMW and AS400 is preferred.
• Microsoft Office proficiency.
• Knowledge of transportation/mechanical equipment.
• Familiarity with OSHA, DOT, HAZMAT, FDA regulations and willingness to certify.
• Strong talent management and communication skills.
• Excellent customer service and analytical abilities.
• Ability to be on-call and work irregular hours.

Responsibilities

• Oversees day-to-day operations of facilities and staff.
• Manages customer interaction, reviews, and continuous improvement.
• Plans long-term labor needs from sales and forecasts.
• Develops and executes plans for efficient operations and staffing.
• Oversees asset management, logistics, compliance, and problem solving.
• Ensures customer pick-up/delivery meets standards and audits SOPs.
• Drives revenue growth with dedicated and non-dedicated customers.
