Job summary

NFI in Petersburg, VA is seeking a Transportation Manager to oversee dedicated fleet operations with full P&L responsibility. You will lead day-to-day transport activities, optimize routing, and partner with customers to drive service and growth.

The role requires a bachelor’s in supply chain or related field, 5+ years in supply chain, experience with TMW and AS400, and strong leadership and compliance knowledge across OSHA/DOT/HazMat. MS Office proficiency is required.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain, Business or related field; or equivalent experience.
• At least 5+ years’ experience in supply chain.
• Experience with TMW and AS400 preferred.
• MS Office proficiency and transportation/mechanical equipment knowledge.
• Knowledge of OSHA, DOT, HAZMAT, FDA regulations; willingness to certify.

Responsibilities

• Manages day-to-day operations of facilities and staff including supervisors, coordinators, clerks, spotters and drivers.
• Owns interaction with the customer for reviews and continuous improvement.
• Develops and manages strategies and resources to eliminate process problems.
• Plans long-term labor needs based on sales, forecasts and historical data.
• Oversees compliance, safety initiatives and equipment utilization.
• Manages revenue growth through dedicated and non-dedicated customers.
