Job summary

NFI is seeking a Transportation Supervisor in Indianapolis to coordinate the dedicated fleet, maximize driver and equipment utilization, and meet customer expectations through dispatch oversight and reporting to management.

The role requires supervising staff, managing scheduling and payroll, and ensuring OSHA/DOT compliance while driving process improvements within a fast-paced environment.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain, Business or related field, or 1–5 years of supervisory experience.
• High School Diploma required.
• Experience with TMW and PeopleNet preferred.
• Ability to work in fast paced environment.
• Ability to handle changing priorities and use good judgment in stressful situations.
• Working knowledge of Microsoft Office applications.
• Working knowledge of transportation/mechanical equipment.
• Willingness to obtain OSHA, DOT, HAZMAT, FDA certifications as necessary.

Responsibilities

• Provide day-to-day supervision to staff including coordinators, clerks, spotters, and drivers.
• Manage driver scheduling process and payroll data.
• Coordinate load completions and data entry into TMW.
• Coordinate invoicing process with management and reconcile invoices.
• Ensure equipment is utilized efficiently.
• Draft and submit daily end-of-shift reports.
• Make recommendations to management on initiatives and programs to improve operations.
