Job summary

FedEx Freight, Inc. is seeking a Fleet Maintenance Technician to keep tractors, trailers, forklifts, and related equipment in top condition. You will perform preventive maintenance, diagnostics, and repairs, with emphasis on safety and documentation. Eligible candidates may receive tuition reimbursement and tool allowances.

The role requires basic computer skills, a valid license, and the ability to work independently or as part of a team. Shift differential pay and benefits are available.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED (preferred).
• 1 year experience in vehicle maintenance or completion of an approved maintenance certificate.
• One or more Medium/Heavy Truck ASE Certifications and Class A CDL preferred.
• Must possess necessary tools to perform assigned tasks.
• Valid driver's license may be required depending on work assignment.
• Knowledge of testing equipment, gauges, and vehicle troubleshooting/repairs.
• Basic computer skills including maintenance programs and diagnostic systems.

Responsibilities

• Performs preventative and routine maintenance on tractors, trailers, forklifts, and other equipment.
• Performs basic diagnostics to identify trouble sources and adjusts equipment as needed.
• Works with other technicians on preventative maintenance and repairs.
• Maintains proper and accurate documentation of maintenance done, reports written/electronic.
• Performs safety inspections and documents the work.
• Performs paint and body work on vehicles as required.
• Complies with laws, regulations, and company policies.
