Job summary

FedEx Freight, Inc. is seeking a diesel mechanic to maintain tractors, trailers, forklifts and related equipment. You will perform preventive maintenance, diagnose issues, and ensure safe operation through accurate documentation and teamwork.

The role includes opportunities for ASE certification-related advancement, tuition reimbursement, and a shift differential. A valid CDL and toolbox are preferred perks of the position.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma (or GED), preferred.
• 1 year of vehicle maintenance experience or related certificate/Apprentice Program completion.
• ASE certifications and Class A CDL are preferred.
• Must possess necessary tools to perform tasks.
• Valid driver’s license may be required depending on assignment.
• Familiarity with testing equipment, gauges and tools for troubleshooting and repairs.
• Basic computer skills and understanding of maintenance programs.

Responsibilities

• Perform preventative and routine maintenance on fleet equipment including tractors and trailers.
• Conduct basic diagnostics and adjust equipment for safe operation.
• Collaborate with other technicians for maintenance and repairs.
• Document all maintenance work accurately in reports and systems.
• Perform safety inspections and report findings.
• Do paint and body work on vehicles as needed.
• Comply with laws, regulations, and company policies.
