Job summary

Republic Services in Memphis seeks a Business Unit Fleet Maintenance Manager to oversee 5+ shops and multiple maintenance teams responsible for 91+ trucks and heavy equipment. You will set direction, manage preventive maintenance programs, and ensure compliance with safety and regulatory standards across sites.

You will lead technicians, supervisors, and managers, optimize scheduling, monitor performance, and implement cost-control measures.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required; 3 years of leadership experience.
• 5+ years of maintenance management/supervisory experience in large fleets or multi-site locations.
• Strong knowledge of OSHA HazCom; Lockout/Tagout; Fire Protection regulations.
• Advanced knowledge of diesel engine, emission, and hydraulic/electrical systems; welding tools.

Responsibilities

• Provide direction to on-site technicians and supervisors to ensure safe, efficient repairs and maintenance.
• Coordinate planning and scheduling of repair work across multiple shops; oversee overtime and resource allocation.
• Monitor shop performance and implement process improvements for efficiency.
• Prepare budgets, manage personnel records, and track preventive/corrective maintenance.
• Oversee training, performance evaluations, hiring/termination in collaboration with HR.
