Job summary

Republic Services is seeking a Business Unit Fleet Maintenance Manager to oversee 5+ maintenance shops and lead teams of technicians, supervisors, and managers in preventive maintenance and repair of a large fleet. This role requires directing on-site work, coordinating across sites, and ensuring compliance with safety and regulatory standards.

The ideal candidate will manage budgets, scheduling, and performance, while driving efficiency and safety across all locations within the business unit.

Qualifications

• Extensive knowledge of preventive maintenance for large fleets.
• Strong leadership and communications skills in a multi-site setting.
• Experience coordinating multiple shops, technicians and supervisors.
• Familiarity with CAFM systems and safety/compliance standards.

Responsibilities

• Provide direction to on-site technicians and supervisors to ensure safe, efficient maintenance work.
• Oversee scheduling and resource allocation across multiple shops to boost productivity.
• Monitor performance, implement process changes, and report results to management.
• Coach, hire/terminate decisions, and conduct employee training and evaluations.
• Maintain preventive maintenance programs and control costs related to personnel and inventory.
