Job summary

UNLV seeks a part-time, temporary Fleet Maintenance Coordinator for the University Police Department, Southern Command. You will coordinate preventive maintenance, emergency repairs, and transport of departmental vehicles, serving as a liaison with internal mechanics and external vendors to keep fleets safe and compliant.

You will schedule maintenance, perform inspections, manage records, assist in emergency fleet swaps, and monitor inventories.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• Nevada Driver’s License (or out-of-state with ability to obtain Nevada license). Driving record must meet NSHE standards.
• 1–2 years in fleet administration, maintenance coordination, or logistics; police department experience may be equivalent.

Responsibilities

• Schedule routine preventative maintenance and mechanical repairs for all Department vehicles.
• Perform fleet inspections for body damage, tire wear, warning lights, and emergency equipment.
• Serve as liaison with internal fleet mechanics, UNLV, CSN, external shops and upfitters.
• Maintain accurate maintenance logs, service histories, fuel usage, and work orders.
• Coordinate installation, troubleshooting, and removal of specialized police equipment.
• Assist in rapid cycling of spare vehicles during emergencies or service swaps.
• Monitor inventory including spare keys and basic maintenance supplies.
