Job summary

Wayne Farms in Huntsville, AL seeks a Poultry Processing Supervisor to lead Retail or Further processing departments, ensuring adherence to HACCP, SSOPs, GMPs and USDA/OSHA standards while meeting productivity and customer specs.

The role supervises up to 100 employees, mentors staff, coordinates with Quality Assurance, implements process improvements, supports safety programs, and ensures PPE usage and clean, sanitary operations across shifts.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent; associate degree preferred.
• Minimum 1 year manufacturing experience; 3 years in food/poultry preferred.
• Leadership experience including timekeeping, policy adherence and conflict resolution.

Responsibilities

• Supervise retail or further processing lines to meet production schedules and quality specs.
• Deploy and rotate personnel to optimize efficiency and ergonomics.
• Ensure accurate daily reporting of attendance, yields, and departmental metrics.
• Identify opportunities for process optimization and reduce repeat deficiencies.
• Lead or participate in planning and implementing process improvements and monitor metrics.
• Partner with QA to maintain a food safe and sanitary environment per USDA requirements.
• Mentor and train employees; administer performance improvement plans.
• Follow safety initiatives and ensure PPE usage.
• Collaborate with other departments to meet location goals.
• Understand and adhere to union contract if applicable.
