Job summary

Stantec is seeking a Fire Protection Engineer (EIT preferred) to join our growing North America Fire Protection Engineering Team. You will help design fire protection systems, perform calculations, and document designs using CAD/BIM tools, while ensuring compliance with codes and standards.

Work with architects and engineers across locations, supporting construction and commissioning activities. This role offers growth within a global design leader focused on sustainable building solutions.

Qualifications

• Knowledge of building and fire codes including NFPA standards.
• Understanding of active and passive fire protection systems.
• Ability to collaborate with project teams and clients.
• Strong technical writing and presentations skills.
• Experience with CAD/BIM and standard software tools.

Responsibilities

• Apply concepts of fire protection engineering to design projects.
• Perform basic calculations and use standard software.
• Gather information to support design decisions.
• Prepare engineering designs, drawings, specs and reports.
• Verify compliance with codes and engineering standards.
• Coordinate with architecture/engineering teams under a senior engineer.
• Support construction phase with submittals and inspections.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
