Job summary

Stantec’s Buildings team is seeking Fire Protection Engineers (EITs) to join a growing North America team. You will design fire protection systems, perform calculations, and prepare documents using CAD/BIM tools.

The role emphasizes collaboration with architects and engineers across multiple offices, with opportunities for growth toward licensure and leadership in projects nationwide. We value strong technical writing, teamwork, and knowledge of NFPA standards, plus experience with modeling

Qualifications

• BS degree in Fire Protection Engineering or related field with emphasis in Fire Protection coursework.
• 0–3 years of related work experience or equivalent education/experience.
• EIT or EI preferred; working toward Fire Protection PE licensure.

Responsibilities

• Apply fire protection concepts to support projects, including suppression, detection, alarm, and egress designs.
• Perform basic calculations using standard software and manufacturer tools.
• Gather information to support design decisions and prepare drawings and specifications.
• Assist with design documents, presentations, and reports.
• Ensure compliance with codes and engineering standards; coordinate with other design professionals.
• Support field activities during construction, including reviews and inspections.
