Job summary

Stantec is seeking Fire Protection Engineers to join our North America Fire Protection Engineering Team. You will design fire protection systems, perform calculations, and prepare design documents using CAD/BIM tools under supervision. You will collaborate with architects and engineers and support construction inspections.

The role emphasizes knowledge of NFPA standards, fire dynamics modeling, and building code interpretation, in a multi-location US setting with strong growth prospects.

Qualifications

• Bachelor of Science Degree in Fire Protection Engineering or related field with emphasis in Fire Protection coursework.
• 4+ years of related work experience or equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Registered Professional Engineer (P.E.) who has passed the fire protection engineering exam or is pursuing licensure.

Responsibilities

• Apply fire protection engineering concepts to support design of fire suppression, detection, alarm, and smoke control systems.
• Perform calculations using standard and proprietary software.
• Prepare designs, drawings, specs, and reports under guidance from senior engineers.
• Coordinate with other design professionals and support construction phase activities.
