Job summary

Stantec Buildings seeks Fire Protection Engineers to join its growing North America Fire Protection Engineering Team. You will design fire protection systems, model fire behavior, and prepare design documents using CAD or BIM software, ensuring code compliance and safe building environments.

The role includes performing calculations, collaborating with architects and engineers, and supporting construction through commissioning and submittals.

Qualifications

• Knowledge of building and fire codes and NFPA standards.
• Knowledge of active and passive fire protection systems including fire suppression and smoke control.
• Ability to collaborate in project team settings with clients.

Responsibilities

• Apply fire protection engineering concepts to design projects including suppression, detection, and egress.
• Perform calculations using standard software and manufacturer tools.
• Gather information to support design decisions.
• Prepare designs, drawings, specifications, and reports under guidance from senior engineers.
• Verify compliance with codes and standards.
• Coordinate with other design professionals during project delivery.
• Support construction activities including submittal reviews and site inspections.
• Perform other duties as assigned by senior staff.
