Job summary

Johnson Controls is seeking a skilled field service technician to diagnose and repair fire alarm and related building systems at customer sites in the Salem area. You will read blueprints, follow manuals, and troubleshoot devices and panels, including panel programming.

A valid driver’s license and the ability to lift up to 70 lbs are required. The role involves on-call rotation, on-site service delivery, and mentoring teammates.

Qualifications

• 2+ years documented experience in low voltage electrical systems.
• NICET Level II certification preferred.
• Reading blueprints, submittals, and manuals is required.
• Capable of lifting 50–70 lbs and performing physical labor.

Responsibilities

• Receive service calls and assess equipment malfunctions.
• Diagnose problems and repair fire alarm systems.
• Read blueprints, diagrams, and specifications.
• Follow troubleshooting procedures and manuals to repair equipment.
• Provide on-site service for various Fire & Life Safety systems.
• Participate in on-call rotation.
• Train or mentor others on the service team.
• Provide quotes and solutions to customers.
