Job summary

Johnson Controls seeks a field service specialist to diagnose, repair, and install fire alarm and related building systems at customer sites. You will read blueprints, troubleshoot electronics, and program control panels while delivering top-tier customer service.

Travel and occasional after-hours work are required. NICET II or technical training is preferred, with a strong safety mindset and ability to lift up to 70 lbs.

Qualifications

• 3+ years’ experience with fire alarm, access control, security intrusion, sound and communications systems
• Must be able to interpret blueprints, diagrams and specifications
• A good working knowledge of computers is necessary
• Ability to follow verbal and written instructions
• Capable of physical labor up to 50-70 lbs
• Able to climb ladders, scaffolding, and work at heights up to 40 feet

Responsibilities

• Receive service calls from Service Resource Center and diagnose problems at customer sites
• Repair, troubleshoot, and install fire alarm and related building systems
• Program fire alarm, security, and access control panels
• Read blueprints and technical manuals and document work
• On-call rotation and after-hours support as needed
• Maintain customer service quality and upsell where appropriate

Education

NICET II preferred
