Job summary

Johnson Controls is seeking an on-site Fire & Life Safety service technician in the United States to diagnose, repair, and install fire alarm systems at customer sites. You will follow manuals, read blueprints, and maintain open communication with customers and district staff to ensure satisfaction.

The role requires independent problem solving, strong customer service, and willingness to participate in an on-call rotation. Some travel to customer sites is expected as part of the job.

Qualifications

• 2+ years of experience in low voltage electrical systems incl Fire/Life Safety.
• NICET Level II certification strongly preferred.
• Experience with CCTV and IT/IP networks is a plus.
• High School Diploma or equivalent; ability to follow verbal and written instructions.

Responsibilities

• Receive service calls from Service Resource Center and assess equipment problems.
• Diagnose problems and perform service and repairs on fire alarm systems at customer sites.
• Follow troubleshooting procedures using manuals and bulletins to repair equipment.
• Read blueprints, diagrams, submittals and specs for installed systems.
• Provide excellent customer service and communicate with district staff and customers.
• Work on-call rotation and provide after-hours support when needed.
