Job summary

Johnson Controls, Inc. is seeking an experienced service professional to diagnose, repair and install Fire/Life Safety systems at customer sites. You will work from the Service Resource Center, handle on-site calls, read schematics, and coordinate with customers to ensure rapid resolution of issues.

Qualifications

• 4+ years in low voltage electrical systems including Fire/Life Safety, Access Control, Nurse Call and Paging systems.
• Fire Alarm License (required).
• Experience reading blueprints, submittals and manuals; knowledge of test equipment, multi-meter, digital analyzer and commissioning devices.
• High School Diploma or equivalent.
• Ability to follow verbal and written instructions.
• Physically able to lift 50–70 lbs and perform demanding tasks.
• Willingness to work flexible hours including weekends.
• Demonstrates strong customer service and safety compliance.

Responsibilities

• Receive service calls and assess equipment/system issues.
• Contact customer representatives and verify problems.
• Diagnose and repair Fire/Life Safety systems at customer sites.
• Follow troubleshooting procedures and consult manuals to repair equipment.
• Service and install various manufacturers’ systems including SimplexGrinnell.
• Read blueprints, diagrams, and submittals; interpret specifications.
• Provide excellent customer service and document work accurately.
• Train or mentor others on the service team when needed.
• Generate quotes and recommendations to improve facility efficiency.
