Job summary

Johnson Controls seeks an experienced field technician to diagnose, repair and install fire alarm and related building systems at customer sites. You will read blueprints, troubleshoot, and program panels while delivering excellent customer service.

Role requires 3+ years in fire/life safety, low voltage work, and ability to work on-call, weekends, and occasional travel. NICET II is preferred, with a competitive benefits package.

Qualifications

• 3+ years’ experience with fire alarm, access control, security intrusion, sound and communications systems.
• Low voltage electrical experience is required.
• Ability to read blueprints, diagrams and specifications.
• Good computer literacy and written/verbal communication skills.
• Willingness to work on-call, weekends, and travel as needed.

Responsibilities

• Receive service calls and diagnose equipment/system problems at customer sites.
• Repair and service fire alarm systems and related building systems per manuals and bulletins.
• Read schematics and load diagrams; program and test system panels.
• Maintain documentation and obtain customer signatures on completions.
• Support training of team members and participate in on-call rotation.
