Job summary

Johnson Controls is seeking a skilled Fire Alarm Service Technician to diagnose, repair, and install Fire & Life Safety systems at customer sites across the region. You will interpret blueprints and technical manuals, perform troubleshooting, and ensure high levels of customer satisfaction while documenting service events.

The ideal candidate has 3+ years of experience in fire alarm and access control systems, a valid driver's license, and willingness to travel and work on-call.

Qualifications

• 3+ years’ experience with fire alarm, access control, security intrusion, sound and communications systems.
• Must be able to interpret blueprints, diagrams and specifications.
• A good working knowledge of computers is necessary.
• Ability to follow verbal and written instructions.
• Possess a valid driver’s license and driving record that meets company requirements.

Responsibilities

• Receive service calls and contact customer representatives to ascertain problems.
• Diagnose issues and repair fire alarm and related building systems at customer sites.
• Read and interpret blueprints, diagrams and product manuals to guide repairs and installations.
• Provide excellent customer service and complete service documentation accurately.
• On-call rotation, after-hours work, and opportunity to upsell solutions when appropriate.
