Job summary

Kidde Global Solutions is seeking a Business Development Specialist - Specification Sales to build and sustain relationships with electrical engineers, fire protection consultants, design teams, GCs, and ECs. You will help ensure Kidde Commercial fire alarm systems are specified and preferred on projects across the Southeast region.

The role combines technical acumen with strategic outreach, promoting advanced fire alarm solutions while navigating code compliance requirements.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent required.
• 5+ years of sales experience in fire alarm, low-voltage, or life-safety systems preferred.

Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain relationships with engineering and construction partners—build trust with firms, consultants, GCs, and ECs through visits, presentations, and technical support.
• Target non-specified projects with GCs and ECs and influence product preference by engaging in-house engineers and low-voltage teams.
• Promote Kidde Commercial fire alarm products and technologies through demonstrations, lunch‑and‑learns, and code-driven discussions.
• Influence project specifications by working with engineers to include Kidde Commercial in written specs for new construction and retrofit projects.
• Provide technical guidance during design phases and assist with system layout, code compliance, and product selection; act as a matchmaker across firms and contractors.
• Identify upcoming projects early in the design cycle by tracking activity, bids, and maintaining a strong specification-driven pipeline.
• Collaborate with internal sales and distribution teams to ensure smooth handoff from spec/contracting to quoting and fulfillment.
• Represent Kidde Commercial at industry events, trade shows, and association meetings to expand brand visibility and relationships.
