Job summary

Kidde Global Solutions seeks a Business Development Specialist - Specification Sales to build consultative partnerships with electrical engineers, fire protection consultants, design teams, general contractors, and electrical contractors across the Southeast US. You’ll ensure Kidde Commercial fire alarm systems are specified or preferred on projects, blending technical insight with strategic outreach.

The role requires ~5+ years of sales in fire alarm or life-safety, a Bachelor’s Degree, and

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent.
• About 5+ years of sales experience in fire alarm, low-voltage, or life-safety systems.
• Bachelor’s Degree required.
• Solid knowledge of IBC, NEC, NFPA, and general fire alarm codes.
• Strong understanding of electrical engineering workflows and construction processes.
• Self-motivated, organized, and field-based work capability.

Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain relationships with engineering and construction partners (engineering firms, fire protection consultants, design teams, GCs, ECs).
• Target non-specified projects with GCs and ECs and influence product preference.
• Promote Kidde Commercial fire alarm products through demos, lunch-and-learns, and code-driven discussions.
• Influence project specifications by working with engineers/specifiers to include Kidde Commercial systems.
• Provide technical guidance during design phases and act as a connector among firms, ECs, and GCs.
• Identify upcoming projects early in the design cycle and maintain a strong pipeline.
