Job summary

Johnson Controls, Inc. is seeking an experienced Fire & Life Safety Technician to service the Atlanta area, diagnosing and repairing electronic fire alarm systems at customer sites and delivering high-level service.

You will read blueprints, follow troubleshooting procedures, and install/maintain building safety systems while ensuring customer satisfaction. The role requires physical ability, a valid driver’s license, and flexibility to work weekends.

Qualifications

• 2+ years of Fire/Life Safety system experience.
• Able to read blueprints, submittals and manuals.
• Knowledge of test equipment, multimeter, and commissioning devices.
• Capable of lifting 50–70 lbs and performing physical labor.
• Must pass pre-employment background and drug test.
• Valid driver’s license and clean driving record.
• Willing to work flexible hours including weekends.
• Adhere to safety guidelines.
• Strong customer service and communication skills.
• NICET II preferred.

Responsibilities

• Receive service calls and contact customer representative to determine problems.
• Diagnose issues and perform service/repairs on Fire & Life Safety systems at customer sites.
• Provide top-tier customer service and effective solutions at the time of service.
• Follow troubleshooting procedures and refer to manuals and bulletins to repair equipment.
• Read and interpret blueprints, diagrams, submittals, and technical manuals.
• Complete service acknowledgements with proper coding via mobile devices.
• Participate in on-call rotation and mentor other team members.
• Provide recommendations and quotes to improve facility efficiency.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
