Job summary

Johnson Controls, Inc. is seeking a Fire Alarm Service Technician to diagnose, repair, and maintain electronic fire alarm systems across customer sites. You will work in a fast-paced environment, handling multiple manufacturer systems and providing timely, professional service.

Qualifications

• 1+ years of documented experience in low voltage electrical systems.
• Experience reading blueprints, submittals, and manuals.
• Knowledge of test equipment, including multi-meter, digital analyzer, and commissioning devices.
• High School Diploma or equivalent.
• Ability to follow verbal and written instructions.

Responsibilities

• Receive service calls from the Service Resource Center.
• Contact customer representatives to understand equipment and system problems.
• Diagnose issues and perform service and repairs on electronic fire alarm systems and related building system products at customer sites.
• Follow prescribed troubleshooting procedures and refer to manuals to repair equipment.
• Service, troubleshoot, and install Fire & Life Safety systems from multiple manufacturers, including SimplexGrinnell.
• Read and interpret blueprints, diagrams, submittals, specifications, software systems, programs, schematics, and manuals.
• Provide excellent customer service by communicating with district staff and customers to support satisfaction.
• Complete Service Acknowledgements with proper coding using mobile devices.
• Obtain customer signatures upon completion of service call assignments.
• Participate in on-call rotation and support team members if needed.
• Provide recommendations and quotes to help customers improve facility performance.
