Job summary

Johnson Controls in Houston is seeking an experienced Low Voltage Technician to install, service and repair Fire/Life Safety and other building systems at customer sites.

You will read blueprints, diagnose issues, perform panel programming, and collaborate with customers to improve facility safety and efficiency. The role requires 4+ years of experience, a Fire Alarm license, NICET II preferred, and the ability to work on-call and weekends.

Qualifications

• 4+ years of documented experience in low voltage electrical systems including Fire/Life Safety.
• Fire Alarm License.
• Experience reading blueprints, submittals, and operational/product manuals.
• Knowledge of test equipment, multimeter, digital analyzer, and commissioning devices.
• High School Diploma or equivalent.
• Able to perform physical labor up to 50-70 lbs.
• Able to work flexible hours including weekends.
• NICET II certification strongly preferred.

Responsibilities

• Receive service calls from Service Resource Center and assess equipment problems.
• Diagnose problems and perform service/repair on Fire/Life Safety systems at customer sites.
• Read and interpret blueprints, diagrams, specifications and manuals.
• Provide excellent customer service and communicate with customers to ensure satisfaction.
• Complete service acknowledgments and on-call rotation.
• Train or mentor others on the service team and provide quotes for recommendations.
• Upsell opportunities and ensure facility runs efficiently.
