Job summary

Johnson Controls is seeking a field technician to install, program, troubleshoot, and service fire alarm, access control, and CCTV systems at customer sites. The role emphasizes networked fire alarm focus with strong safety practices and teamwork.

Requirements include 3+ years in low voltage systems, blueprint literacy, tool proficiency, and physical ability. Ability to lift, climb, and travel may be required; after-hours work is possible.

Qualifications

• 3+ years documented experience in low voltage electrical systems, Fire/Life Safety, Access Control, CCTV, and Security Systems.
• Experience reading blueprints, submittals, and manuals.
• Experience with hand tools, test equipment, multimeters, digital analyzers, and commissioning devices.
• High School Diploma or equivalent.
• Able to lift 50–70 lbs and perform physical tasks.
• Willing to work weekends and travel overnight if required.
• Strong customer service and teamwork mindset.
• Pass pre-employment background and drug test.

Responsibilities

• Perform installation/programming on integrated security and fire alarm systems.
• Respond to customer service calls, troubleshoot and repair as needed.
• Participate in after-hours service program.
• Communicate with central dispatch on work order status and updates.
• Read and interpret blueprints, diagrams, submittals, specs, manuals.
• Supervise and inspect installation to meet specs.
• Complete certification courses on internal and external products.
• Submit all required task-related and productivity documentation promptly.
