Job summary

Johnson Controls is hiring a Fire & Life Safety technician to diagnose and repair electrical systems at customer sites in Texas. You will interpret blueprints, read specifications, and perform service tasks on diverse building safety systems, including CCTV/IT networks.

Strong communication with district staff and customers is essential. Role requires 4+ years of relevant experience, a Texas Fire Alarm License, and the ability to work physically demanding shifts, including weekends.

Qualifications

• 4+ years documented experience in low voltage electrical systems, including Fire/Life Safety systems, Access Control, Nurse Call, and Paging systems.
• Texas Fire Alarm License required or strong eligibility
• Experience reading blueprints, submittals, and manuals.
• Knowledge of test equipment (multimeter, analyzer) and commissioning devices.
• Willingness to perform physical labor and work flexible hours including weekends.

Responsibilities

• Receive service calls and contact customer representatives to diagnose issues.
• Diagnose problems and perform service and repairs on Fire & Life Safety systems at customer sites.
• Read blueprints, diagrams, and manuals to troubleshoot, install, and commission systems.
• Provide excellent customer service and document all tasks and quotes.
• Participate in on-call rotation and assist in training team members.
