Job summary

Integrated Power Services (IPS) is seeking a Field Service Technician to troubleshoot, repair, and maintain industrial rotating equipment across customer sites. You will lead on-site diagnostics and precision repairs while delivering exceptional service and ensuring safety at all times.

You’ll work with a team of skilled technicians, travel to various sites, and leverage advanced tooling to diagnose issues, perform overhauls, and maintain equipment to OEM standards.

Qualifications

• 2+ years of hands-on experience with AC/DC motors, gearboxes, pumps, or similar rotating industrial equipment.
• Read and interpret precision measuring instruments and technical blueprints.
• Strong problem-solving skills to diagnose mechanical failures in a fast-paced environment.
• Strong customer-facing communication.
• Must have a valid driver’s license and be willing to work flexible hours, overtime, and weekends for on-call field service.
• Experience with PdMA testing or Level I Vibration Analysis is a significant plus.

Responsibilities

• Precision Assembly & Alignment: Lead installation/removal of AC/DC motors and coupled equipment; perform laser alignments and set air gaps and seals to OEM specs.
• Detailed Mechanical Inspections: Use precision measuring tools to diagnose wear and verify tolerances.
• Advanced Overhauls: Replace bearings, gearboxes and torque-critical components using specialized tooling.
• Technical Testing: Perform diagnostic tests with portable electronics to ensure system reliability.
• Specialized Maintenance: Clean and prep electro-mechanical equipment using bead blasting, ice blasting, and solvent cleaning.
• Safety & Collaboration: Follow safety standards while working independently or as part of a team to hit project goals.
