Job summary

Join Lumen as Field Technician II, supporting telecommunications infrastructure across your territory. This field-based role starts from a home base with a company vehicle and travel to multiple network sites, building technical expertise and opening growth paths.

You’ll troubleshoot outages, perform OTDR tests, maintain facilities, and document activities. A high school diploma and 2 years’ telecom experience are required; you should be comfortable outdoors in all weather and able to travel.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Minimum 2 years of telecom or field technical experience.
• Experience troubleshooting and repairing network equipment; OTDR testing knowledge.

Responsibilities

• Respond to network outages and restore services to maintain availability.
• Troubleshoot, repair, and maintain telecommunications equipment.
• Perform OTDR and network testing to identify issues.
• Conduct preventive maintenance on network facilities
• Provide smart hands support at remote sites
• Maintain site equipment including HVAC and generators
• Document work activities and use Outlook/Teams for communication
• Support network reliability and customer service across territories
