Job summary

Lumen Technologies is seeking a Field Technician II to maintain and restore network services across assigned areas. You will start from a home base in a company vehicle and travel to multiple network sites, building technical expertise and growth opportunities.

The role requires troubleshooting, fiber optics knowledge, OTDR testing, and the ability to work independently outdoors in all conditions. A valid driver's license and on-call availability are essential.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent is required.
• Minimum of 2 years of relevant telecommunications or field technical experience.
• Experience troubleshooting and repairing network equipment.
• Knowledge of fiber optic networks.
• Experience performing OTDR testing and network diagnostics.
• Ability to work independently across multiple field locations.
• Comfortable working outdoors in all seasons and weather conditions.
• Valid driver's license and willingness to travel.
• Ability to participate in an on-call rotation after hours.

Responsibilities

• Respond to network outages and restore service.
• Troubleshoot and repair telecom and network infrastructure equipment.
• Perform OTDR testing and other network testing activities.
• Conduct preventive maintenance on network facilities.
• Provide smart hands support at remote network sites.
• Maintain site equipment including HVAC and generators.
• Document work activities and use Microsoft Office tools for communication.
