Job summary

Lumen Technologies is seeking a Field Technician II to maintain and restore network services across assigned territories. The role starts from a home base with a company vehicle and travel to multiple sites, offering a path to grow technically within a connected ecosystem.

You will troubleshoot and repair telecom infrastructure, perform OTDR testing, and assist in maintaining site facilities to ensure uptime. This role requires outdoor work in all seasons and a valid driver’s license.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent is required.
• 2+ years in telecommunications, network infrastructure, or field tech experience.
• Experience troubleshooting and repairing network equipment.
• Knowledge of fiber optic networks.
• Experience performing OTDR testing and network diagnostics.
• Ability to work independently across multiple field locations.

Responsibilities

• Respond to outages and restoration activities to maintain service availability.
• Troubleshoot, repair, and maintain network infrastructure equipment.
• Perform OTDR and other tests to identify and resolve issues.
• Conduct preventive maintenance on network facilities.
• Provide smart hands support at remote network sites.
• Maintain site equipment including HVAC and generators.
• Document work activities; use Outlook/Teams for communication and admin tasks.
• Support network reliability, uptime, and customer service continuity.
