Lumen Technologies is seeking a Field Technician II to maintain and restore network services across assigned areas. This field-based role starts from a home base with a company vehicle, traveling to multiple sites, offering growth pathways and hands-on network experience.

The role emphasizes troubleshooting, preventive maintenance, and documentation, with duties spanning HVAC and generator support, and on-call readiness across territories.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Minimum of 2 years of relevant telecommunications, network infrastructure, or field technical experience.
• Experience troubleshooting and repairing network equipment.
• Knowledge of fiber optic networks.
• Experience performing OTDR testing and network diagnostics.
• Ability to work independently across multiple field locations.
• Must be comfortable working outdoors in all seasons and weather conditions.
• Valid driver’s license with ability to operate a company vehicle and travel.
• Ability to participate in an on-call rotation and respond to after-hours service issues.

Responsibilities

• Respond to network outages and restore service to maintain availability.
• Troubleshoot, repair, and maintain telecom and network equipment.
• Perform OTDR and other testing to identify and resolve issues.
• Conduct preventive maintenance on network facilities and infrastructure.
• Provide smart hands support at remote network sites.
• Maintain site equipment including HVAC and generators.
• Document work activities and communicate via Microsoft Office tools.
• Support network reliability, uptime, and customer service across territories.
