Job summary

Lumen Technologies, Inc. is seeking a Field Technician II to maintain and restore network services across assigned areas. The role is field-based, with a company-provided vehicle and travel to multiple network sites within the territory.

You will troubleshoot, repair and test fiber optic networks, perform preventive maintenance, and document activities using Outlook and Teams. The position requires independence, weather tolerance, and a valid driver's license.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Minimum 2 years in telecom or field network tech.
• Experience troubleshooting network equipment.
• Knowledge of fiber optic networks.
• Experience performing OTDR testing.
• Ability to work independently at multiple sites.
• Valid driver’s license and ability to travel.
• On-call rotation and after-hours response.

Responsibilities

• Respond to outages and restore service to maintain availability.
• Troubleshoot, repair, and maintain telecom and network infrastructure.
• Perform OTDR and other tests to identify issues.
• Conduct preventive maintenance on network facilities.
• Provide smart hands support at remote sites.
• Maintain site equipment, including HVAC and generators.
• Document work activities using Microsoft Office.
