Job summary

PowerSecure, a Southern Company subsidiary, is seeking a Service Technician – Commercial Generators to maintain and repair contracted and non-contracted generator and power distribution equipment. You will provide technical support to customers on operational or maintenance aspects and travel to customer sites.

The role requires extensive field experience with generator systems, switchgear, and loadbanking, plus reading schematics and wiring diagrams.

Qualifications

• Three years of field experience servicing generator systems (Level II).
• Six years of field experience servicing generator systems (Level III).
• Ten years of field experience servicing generator systems (Level IV).
• Experience with 500kW+ generators and preventative maintenance.
• Ability to read and interpret wiring diagrams and technical instructions.
• High School diploma or GED or equivalent experience.

Responsibilities

• Daily travel to customer sites.
• Provide 24x7 on-call service as required.
• Maintain and safeguard equipment and tools.
• Coordinate and manage on-site subcontractors.
• Complete paperwork timely (field reports, time sheets).
• Provide technical support to customers on operational issues.
