Job summary

PowerSecure, a Southern Company subsidiary, is seeking an experienced Service Technician for commercial generators and power distribution equipment. The role focuses on maintenance, repairs, and on-site technical support with a strong safety culture and customer service mindset.

Responsibilities include preventive maintenance, on-call support, and collaboration with the Product Support team. Travel to customer sites and mentoring of mid-to-senior technicians are expected as part of ongoing

Qualifications

• Minimum High School diploma or GED equivalent.
• Level II–IV technician experience with generator systems and switchgear.
• Ability to read schematics and diagnose electrical issues.
• Willingness to travel up to 25% and work on-call.
• Strong safety mindset and customer-facing skills.

Responsibilities

• Perform preventive maintenance on generator and power distribution equipment.
• Provide on-site technical support to customers for operations and maintenance.
• Travel to customer sites and coordinate with on-site subcontractors.
• Maintain accurate Field Service Reports and time/expense records.
• Mentor junior technicians when needed.
• Read and interpret electrical schematics and wiring diagrams.
