Job summary

PowerSecure, Inc. is seeking a Service Technician – Commercial Generators to maintain and repair contracted and non-contracted generator and power distribution equipment at customer sites.

You will provide technical support for operational or maintenance concerns and travel for on-site service. The role emphasizes hands-on maintenance, safety, and timely reporting, with on-call responsibilities and cross-training across related equipment.

Qualifications

• Three years of field experience servicing generator systems with some 500kW+ experience.
• High School diploma or GED or equivalent field experience.
• Read and decipher electronic schematics and troubleshoot at component level.
• Understanding of Automatic Transfer Systems and ability to troubleshoot with minimal direction.
• Ability to perform triennial maintenance and engage with safety manuals.

Responsibilities

• Conduct daily on-site maintenance and repair of generator and power distribution equipment.
• Provide 24x7 on-call support as required and communicate availability.
• Safely operate and safeguard company equipment and tools on customer sites.
• Coordinate and manage on-site subcontractors and maintain vehicle condition.
• Complete Field Service Reports, time and expense reports accurately.
