Job summary

PowerSecure, a Southern Company subsidiary, is seeking a Service Technician for Commercial Generators. The role focuses on maintenance and repair of generator and power distribution systems with on-site customer support and technical troubleshooting.

Travel to client sites and on-call coverage are required. The ideal candidate has extensive field experience with generator systems, strong diagnostic skills, and proficiency in reading schematics and operating ERP and MS Office tools.

Qualifications

High School diploma or GED required; related military or field experience acceptable.
3 years field experience for Level II; 6 years for Level III; 10 years for Level IV technician.
Experience with generator systems, 500kW+ preferred.
Proficient in preventative maintenance, switchgear paralleling, ATS repairs, and loadbanking.
Ability to read schematics, wiring diagrams; able to interpret manuals and policies.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills; customer-facing abilities.
Must observe safety standards and be willing to travel 85%+ of the time.

Responsibilities

Perform routine maintenance and repairs on generator and power distribution equipment.
Provide technical support to customers on operation and maintenance.
Coordinate and manage on-site subcontractors when needed.
Maintain and safeguard company equipment and tools.
Complete all required paperwork accurately and timely.
Travel to customer sites and respond to on-call requests.
