Job summary

PowerSecure, Inc. is hiring a Service Technician - Commercial Generators to maintain and repair generator and power distribution equipment at customer sites.

You will provide technical support on operation and maintenance and travel regularly to client facilities across the service area. This role requires extensive field experience with generator systems, ATS and switchgear, and the ability to read schematics.

Qualifications

• Three years of field experience servicing generator systems (Level II).
• Six years of field experience servicing generator systems with extensive 500KW+ experience (Level III).
• Ten years of field experience servicing generator systems; expert in preventative maintenance and loadbanking (Level IV).
• Ability to perform triennial maintenance, engine diagnostics, fuel system priming, and component replacement.
• High School diploma or GED or equivalent military/field experience.
• Expertise with major engine repairs, including Volvo and PSI engines.
• Knowledge of Automatic Transfer Systems and troubleshooting.
• Strong reading of schematics/wiring diagrams for electrical issues (Woodward/Beckwith/PLC).
• Ability to read technical instructions, safety manuals, and policies.

Responsibilities

• Daily travel with independent work structure.
• Provide 24x7 on-call services as required.
• Maintain and safeguard company equipment, tools, and instruments.
• Perform battery installations and replacements.
