Job summary

PowerSecure is seeking a Commercial Generator Field Technician to service and repair generator and power distribution equipment, including LV/MV switchgear and battery storage systems. The role involves extensive fieldwork at client sites, 24/7 on-call coverage, and training participation to advance through technician levels.

Responsibilities include diagnostic work, maintenance, customer interaction, and precise reporting.

Qualifications

• Minimum qualifications include multi-year field service experience on generator systems and power distribution equipment.
• Experience with high and low voltage switchgear and energy storage equipment is preferred.
• Ability to read and interpret schematics, wiring diagrams and technical manuals.

Responsibilities

• Travel daily to customer sites to perform maintenance and repairs.
• Provide 24x7 on-call support as required.
• Perform preventative maintenance and repairs per contract requirements.
• Interface with customers to explain service actions and recommendations.
• Maintain accurate Field Service Reports and time/expense documentation.
• Attend trainings as required to stay current with equipment and processes.
• Own and maintain personal set of mechanical tools and equipment.
