Job summary

Sparklight, a Cable One brand, is seeking Advance Technicians to install, repair, and troubleshoot customer equipment and networks across Illinois. You will work on Headend, HFC, and fiber optic systems with a focus on high-quality service and safety.

Qualifications

• Certification or equivalent experience required; successful completion of Sparklight Advanced Technician training within 6 months.
• Knowledge of FCC/NEC/NESC/OSHA/DOT regulations or local ordinances is preferred.
• Must possess a valid driver’s license and be able to work variable schedules including evenings, weekends, and holidays.

Responsibilities

• Install new customer equipment and perform repairs and troubleshooting on headend, HFC, and fiber optic networks.
• Repair and test customer-owned equipment; interpret system and network design maps.
• Splice/terminate coaxial and fiber cables; install devices in aerial and underground plant.
• Conduct underground locates and assist with plant extensions and cost estimation.
• Monitor plant performance and perform leakage ride-out activities.
• Train junior technicians as directed.
