Job summary

Cable One, Inc. (Sparklight) seeks Advance Technicians to install new services, repair equipment, and troubleshoot complex networks, including HFC and fiber optic systems.

You will read maps, verify documentation, splice cables, and activate devices to keep customers connected and meet design specs. Qualifications include a 1-year certificate or equivalent, plus hands-on training; candidates must be available for variable schedules, overtime, weekends, and holidays, with a valid driver's license

Qualifications

• One-year certificate from college or technical school; or three to four years related experience and/or training.
• Must complete Sparklight Advanced Technician course within 6 months of hire.
• Working knowledge of signal level meters, VOM, leakage detection equipment, TDR/OTDR and related test equipment.
• Knowledge of FCC, NEC, NESC, OSHA, DOT regulations and local ordinances.
• Must have a valid driver's license in the employing state.
• Ability to work variable schedules and respond to service interruptions; overtime, weekends and holidays as required.

Responsibilities

• Install new customer services and repair equipment to ensure high-quality connectivity.
• Troubleshoot malfunctions in Headend, HFC and fiber networks using test equipment.
• Read and interpret system maps and verify documented as-built information.
• Splice/terminate coaxial and fiber, activate devices, and test performance to specs.
• Assist with plant extensions and perform underground facility locates.
