Sparklight, a Cable One brand, is hiring Advancement Technicians to perform new customer installations, repairs, and troubleshooting across HFC and fiber networks. You will read maps, verify as-built docs, and activate equipment to ensure top service quality.

The role requires troubleshooting expertise, knowledge of test equipment, and the ability to work varied shifts, including overtime, with opportunities for advancement and learning within a collaborative environment.

Qualifications

• One-year certificate from college or technical school; or three to four years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Must complete Sparklight Advanced Technician training within 6 months of start date.
• Working knowledge of signal level meters, VOM, leakage detection equipment, TDR, OTDR, and related test equipment.
• Knowledge of FCC, NEC, NESC, OSHA, DOT regulations and local ordinances.
• Must have valid driver's license for the state of employment.
• Able to work variable schedule; respond to service interruptions; overtime including weekends/evenings/holidays.

Responsabilités

• Maintain high quality connectivity by troubleshooting and diagnosing malfunctions in the Headend, HFC and fiber optic networks.
• Repair local plant performance issues and customer-owned equipment using electronic test equipment.
• Read and interpret system/network design maps.
• Verify as-built documentation and report findings per company process.
• Splice/terminate coaxial and fiber optics cables and activate devices to meet specs.
• Perform underground facility locates to prevent cable damage.
• Survey locations for service capability and assist in estimating plant/drop extension costs.
• Monitor plant for signal leakage and perform ride-out activities.
• Train system technical personnel as directed by local management.
