Job summary

Sparklight, a Cable One brand, seeks Advance Technicians to install, repair, and troubleshoot high-quality connectivity for customers. You will diagnose network issues across headend, HFC, and fiber, splice and terminate cables, read system maps, and test installations to ensure compliance with company standards.

You will participate in on-call rotations, overtime, weekends, and holidays as required, with opportunities for career growth and advancement within the Sparklight family.

Qualifications

• 1-year certificate from college or technical school; or 3–4 years related experience and/or training.
• A working knowledge of signal level meters, VOM, leakage detection equipment, TDR, OTDR and other related test equipment.
• Knowledgeable of FCC, NEC, NESC, OSHA, and DOT regulations; and related local ordinances.
• Must possess a valid driver’s license for the state of employment.
• Ability to work a variable schedule and respond to service interruptions; overtime including weekends, evenings, and holidays.

Responsibilities

• Troubleshoot and diagnose malfunctions in the Headend, HFC and fiber optic networks.
• Repair equipment and support customers with local plant performance issues.
• Read and interpret system and network design maps; compare field findings with documentation.
• Splice/terminate coaxial and fiber optic cables; mount devices; test for optimal performance.
• Perform underground facility locates and prevent cable damage.
• Conduct plant maintenance work to restore system specifications.
• Monitor plant for signal leakage and perform ride-out activities.
• Train system technical personnel as directed by management.
