Job summary

bioMerieux is seeking a Field Systems Engineer to service customers across California and nationally. You will install, maintain, upgrade, and repair instruments, build strong customer relationships, and promote service agreements. The role requires travel, including overnight stays, and participation in an on-call rotation.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Electronic Technology, Computer Science, Biomedical or related discipline.
• 2+ years of professional experience troubleshooting and/or repair of complex electro-mechanical, electronic, computer, electrical systems.
• Education substitution: 6+ years of relevant experience in lieu of a Bachelor's degree.
• Must have and maintain a valid driver’s license in state of residence.

Responsibilities

• Respond to customer needs and perform installations, maintenance, upgrades, and repairs to ensure instruments meet specifications.
• Build trust with customers, promote service agreements, and identify sales opportunities for cross-functional teams.
• Drive field service revenue through billable offerings like preventive maintenance and equipment moves.
• Attend 6-9 weeks of product training at designated offices within the first year; ongoing trainings as needed.
• Travel for customer visits, including overnight stays as required; participate in on-call rotation (~every 5 weeks).
• Complete service work orders, QA checklists, and training requirements accurately and timely.
