bioMerieux Field Systems Engineer is responsible for servicing and maintaining sophisticated instruments across the assigned territory, extending nationally as needed, while delivering a best-in-class customer experience. The role requires self-motivation, remote work capability, and willingness to travel overnight on short notice.

Duties include installations, upgrades, repairs, preventive maintenance, relationship building with customers, and collaboration with sales and applications teams.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Electronics, Computer Science, Biomedical or related discipline.
• 2+ years of professional experience in troubleshooting and/or repair of complex electro-mechanical, electronic, computer, electrical systems.
• Education substitution: 6+ years of relevant experience in lieu of a Bachelor's degree.
• Valid driver’s license in state of residence.

Responsibilities

• Respond to customer needs and perform installations, maintenance, upgrades, and repairs.
• Build trust with customers, promote service agreements, and identify sales opportunities.
• Foster teamwork across service and support teams while driving field service revenue.
• Attend 6–9 weeks of product training within the first year; future trainings as needed.
• Travel includes both scheduled and unscheduled visits with overnight stays as needed.
• Participate in weekend/holiday on-call rotation (~every 5 weeks).
• Complete service work orders, QA checklists, and internal training requirements.
