Job summary

bioMerieux Field Systems Engineer services customers within the assigned territory, performing installations, maintenance, upgrades, and repairs to ensure instruments meet specifications. The role emphasizes building trust, promoting service agreements, and identifying sales opportunities across cross-functional teams.

The position requires a Bachelor’s degree in engineering or related discipline and 2+ years of troubleshooting/repair experience, with a valid driver's license.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor degree in Engineering, Electronic Technology, Computer Science, Biomedical or related discipline.
  • 2+ years of professional experience troubleshooting/repair of electro-mechanical, electronic, computer, electrical systems.
  • Education substitution: 6+ years of relevant experience in lieu of a Bachelor's degree.
  • Must have and maintain a valid driver’s license in state of residence.

Responsibilities

  • Respond to customer needs and perform installations, maintenance, upgrades, and repairs to ensure instruments meet specifications.
  • Build trust with customers, promote service agreements, and identify sales opportunities for cross-functional teams.
  • Drive field service revenue through billable offerings like preventive maintenance and equipment moves.
  • Attend 6–9 weeks of product training at Durham, NC or St. Louis, MO offices within the first year.
  • Travel includes both scheduled and unscheduled visits, with overnight travel and on-call requirements.
  • Maintain service work orders, QA checklists, and training requirements.
